Sorry, this isn't ageism. If you're going to say that someone who will be nearing 87 with no experience in crafting a good stage musical is the best person to write the book to a stage musical that is promoting itself as being re-thought to speak to today's audience...
I sure hope someone trusts me at that age to do this level of writing work (writing a book to a musical is not writing a novel or even screenplay at home, it's a very demanding constantly iterative work), but I wouldn't advise them to hire me for it if their goal is to take my original script from *40* years prior and re-think it for the younger audience of that day.

Call it ageism if you want, you'd think with age would come the wisdom to know when you're not the right fit for the job, especially when you'll already get credit and money from the project anyway.

But again, I have zero doubt that there's a ghost co-bookwriter working on this, I just think it's sad that person(s) probably won't get credit.
