| I saw it off Broadway and again after it transferred. I thought it was brilliant. In my opinion, the play is about what we give up to create art (mostly personal relationships) and what we put up with to get ahead (hard work, long hours and other people). All the characters change during the course of the play as difficulties of the recording sessions go on. Fleetwood Mac was my era but I know absolutely nothing about the group. I don't see the point in comparing the group in the play to Fleetwood Mac. So what if the characters are similar/exactly like Fleetwood Mac. And why is it important to know how they got together? That would be a 4 hour play and, in my opinion, would add nothing to the themes of the play. |
