For the record, I also enjoyed the Encores Into The Woods a lot, but for me, the star of the show was Rob Berman and the orchestra, which does befit Encores a great deal. That perfectly cast ensemble of musicians played that score better than I have ever heard it - including Gemignani's original.
I did like the cast of course too, and I mostly liked the direction. I loved the Giant's giant shoes.
My one question in hindsight - did she direct the Princes, or did she simply not say no to them? They were doing a different show IMO. |
