A few quick thoughts on what you wrote.

1. The AD/EP breakdown actually goes all the way back to the recreation of LCT after its initial failure. Gersten was the EP from that time (mid 80s) until his retirement in the last decade, with Greg Mosher and then André Bishop as AD. Bishop held the collapsed role until his retirement, so now they are going back to the original plan (which Bernie came up with). I hope Bart does well in the job though I don't know that he has much experience as a producer but perhaps I have amnesia. That's why I suspected he would not stay all that long, but we shall see.

2. Bad bosses in the theatre are nothing new, nor are people who find their bosses bad because they did not get along (or got canned). [Also true out of the theatre of course.] I take stuff like this with a grain of salt. What I do know is that suggesting that a director was not important to any production or that Lear's fingerprints are not all over every one of her productions is pretty naive.

3/4. I think Bart was fine as long as he was doing things his way; the problems arose when he started employing what I think I called self-conscious imagination. And Good Person was terrific.
