I would love a WTF South location which would allow me to attend more frequently. I can honestly say that for years I had looked at the WTF listings and always wanted to go but couldn’t swing it whether it was time away from work or expensive lodging. This past summer when I priced an overnight trip I was disappointed with the options so I ended up booking an entire week with the intention of seeing five shows which included shows at Barrington, Berkshire Theater Group, Shakespeare & Company and a day trip to the American Rep for Gatsby. After my trip was booked, I was able to add the WTF offerings Pamela Palmer, Cabaret and Sara Bareilles benefit concert. I also tacked on Sharon Playhouse’s The Prom with Kate Baldwin. All I can say is that It was one of the best vacations I have ever had. I truly felt like a kid in a candy store. I ended up seeing ten shows over seven days for a box office total of about $600. I also went to the Pamela Palmer talkback and it was interesting to listen to Becky Ann Baker talk about her fond memories of performing at WTF. I don’t know what the future holds for WTF but I will definitely be planning future theater weeks in the Berkshires.
