| Thanks. That seemed to be in perhaps too low a key for Mr. Gaxton and to favor Ms. Gray, as Gaxton's first phrase he sang an octave higher than the rest; his voice certainly sounded better at the beginning, but he was quite charming. Of course, the fabulous Ms. Gray was always a pleasure to listen to and look at! I heard from some folks that Gray's voice was among the biggest voices heard on Broadway -- someone said even bigger in volume than Merman's (or at least at her level)! But Gray's voice could be quite creamy and sumptuous as well -- even at that volume. | |
