| I saw this last night. Not all the skits are laugh out loud funny but overall I really liked the cast. It does feel like a work in progress. The Alicia Keys number, The Outsiders, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, Cabaret, Daniel Radcliffe, Back to the Future and Bernadette Peters skits worked pretty well. I don’t know why it wasn’t made clearer it was Patti supposed to be singing The Ladies Who Lunch. The Ben Platt number wasn’t quite as biting as it should be. The Audra Gypsy skit was interesting because we don’t know how she will play the part yet. No Sunset Blvd skit which is a surprise. It wasn’t clear right away that Jeremy Jordan was being spoofed. They have spruced up the seating at the 555 Theater. I would return after the show opens. One confusing thing: in the Back to the Future bits, sometimes the character was called Marty, at other times Casey (for the Broadway actor). |
