| ibdb lists Joan Fontaine as a replacement, but I am 99.9999999999 percent sure that she never appeared in Forty Carats on Broadway. She is not listed as a replacement in either Best Plays or Theatre World. There are no playbills with her for sale on ebay. I can find nothing on the ProQuest database of periodicals indicating that she was ever in it on Broadway. She did do it later at a dinner theatre. I have written to ibdb about this, but it did no good. There are hundreds of errors on ibdb, but they don't really seem to care. | |
