Still no characters shown singing! In the other WICKED trailers I've seen singing (Defying Gravity) is only heard in the background, not shown onscreen. I HATE that the marketing people for Universal (in this case) seem to be hiding that WICKED is indeed a movie MUSICAL!
Why aim for people who don't like musicals (once they're in the cinema, they'll likely feel tricked) instead of those of us who love the art form?
And even in an era when there have been several financially successful movie musicals.
If the powers that be are embarrassed it's a musical, don't make it in the first place-it signals disrespect and suspicion towards those of us who love the art form. |
