He is very good as Chulalongkorn and delightful in the Flower Drum Song movie. He had been a replacement Chulalongkorn on the national tour of The King and I, and after making the movie but before it was released, he played the role at City Center with Jan Clayton as Anna, Zachary Scott as the King, and Muriel Smith repeating her London role as Lady Thiang.
Yes, it is sad that he never got the chance to come back to Broadway. |
