| Yes! Thank you for this. Sometime in the late 50s/early 60s CAROUSEL and THE KING AND I were re-released as a double feature (remember those?) and I sat in the front row of a large movie theater and saw them for the first time on a wide screen. I was not yet a teen and spellbound, but without the discerning taste to notice their flaws. As years passed, I saw the imperfections of Carousel, but can still recall that magical afternoon. Not a great movie, but an indelible experience that still gives me pleasure in retrospect. As TheOtherOne says, perhaps Chu reacted similarly. |
