| I think the problem here is what are you proposing an appearance by Simone Biles with original music and some dramatic scenes telling the story of her life? Or an actual book musical in which Biles a non actress would portray the dramatic scenes of her life including singing any songs written for this show? I have no idea of Biles' dramatic abilities but I cannot think of many examples where the latter approach worked. I do think that the extraordinarily talented and charismatic Simone Biles could likely handle a personal "concert" of gymnastic appearances on Broadway and/or on tour and if some music original or standards were incorporated into that concert and perhaps Ms Biles an/or a narrator did tell the story of her life it would likely do very well. But I am less enamoured of a musicalization of her life starring her. If someone wishes to make a musical about her life, I do agree with you that could be very moving. But for her to star I am much less certain about the wisdom of that. | |
