| Not that I’m endorsing the larger idea, which sounds more like a cirque show than a musical, but Carole King is only 29 at the end of Beautiful. Coming of age stories are just as powerful as arc of life stories, and often more so, because the time is compacted. And Biles’ three Olympics gives a very tidy three act structure. |
