| In my opinion, Megan Hilty was playing the stereotypical (and too on the nose) Marilyn, which is not what the director wanted. Katharine McPhee, as the unconfident ingenue, was more in line with his edgier and darker vision, which is why there was a competition between the two. I thought it was completely believable. For example, if Jamie Lloyd was directing BOMBSHELL, he would NOT want Megan Hilty. |
