| I missed the announcement last week of the Kennedy Center Honors. I scrolled down to see the post discussed here. I checked the Wikipedia page to see when the last time they honored someone primarily known as a theater performer (Billy Crystal, Renée Fleming, Sally Field and soon George Clooney are really know for other mediums). The last time they honored a Broadway performer (besides "Hamilton") was Barbara Cook in 2001. I'm also shocked Mark Morris hasn't been honored. The last choreographer (again not counting Andy Blankenbuehler or Debbie Allen) honored was Bill T. Jones in 2010. BUT if you look at the Kennedy Center Wikipedia page, Liza is listed this year! Someone's wishful thinking. |
