Thank you playwiz for all that intriguing information! Another early version of Victor Victoria is first a girl from the 1930s which I believe stars Jessie Matthews. Wouldn't it be great to hop in the time machine and see these films and a theater?
I just consulted Wikipedia. First A girl was indeed from 1935 and did star Jesse Matthews. I just learned that the source film of this movie was the German film Viktor und Viktoria the same source as the Julie Andrews movie!
I guess six degrees of separation applies in many different situations!!!
Oh well all we can do is dream ..
