Based entirely on your post, it sounds like it WILL be worth it for you. You've always wanted to see something at Steppenwolf and you love Laurie Metcalf. And here's Metcalf in a play at Steppenwolf. And, at some point, you were excited enough about it to book a plane ticket to Chicago on your personal dime and in your personal time when your work trip was cancelled. Don't second guess yourself.
