I honestly think it's unlikely a ALW revival is going to win Best Revival two years in a row. So they might as well compete against each other, just for the press it'll get.

And I'd also think that if it's between the Jamie Lloyd Sunset revival and the joyful Ball Cats revival taking it... he'd want the Cats revival to win. That show is in much more need of a remake in the public eye, and this would get him into the cultural discussion (which he loves) with it being a queer take, and giving opportunities for groundbreaking stuff on Broadway.

I also think it's very likely that Sunset would love to Gypsy anyway.
Also very likely that this Sunset will not be NEARLY as lauded in NYC as it was in London.

And FWIW, no ALW musical revival has ever won Best Revival at the Tonys.

If I were him I'd be putting my support and prayers behind Cats.
