I think I have made it clear on this board that I loathe Garth and would counsel anyone against getting near him. He is a pathological fraudster but nonetheless a very skilled one who somehow has the ability to paint beautiful pictures for his victims. That said, I also think it is a slippery slope when we start to advocate for not making theatre because of external reasons. (If we did that, there probably would not be a Broadway.) If one must deal with fraudsters, one must be hyper-prepared to avoid getting caught up in their schemes. The people you mention were protected, as they should be, by their unions, and the Shuberts don't get cheated because they do not play with house money. (And I would think you would be aware of why the Shuberts were listed as producers.)
