'Oh, Mary!': Turnaround, every now and then, you get a 5 p.m. show

''Oh, Mary!'' is now in previews and does two shows on Saturdays: 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ''Oh, Mary!'' runs only 80 minutes, so the 5 p.m. show is especially nice if you're an out-of-towner who wants to slip in one more show between a Saturday 2 p.m. matinee and Saturday 8 p.m. evening show.

After ''Oh, Mary!'' opens July 11, it'll also do two shows on Thursdays: at 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Has any other Broadway show ever done this turnaround?

''A Beautiful Noise,'' ''Phantom'' have done Thursday matinees & evenings, but never any at 5 p.m. (''Moulin Rouge!'' sometimes does Sundays at 5 p.m.)

Assuming ''Oh, Mary!'' starts at 5 p.m. and finishes at 6:30 p.m., that only gives them 2 hours before 8:30. Is this unprecedented on Broadway?

Many, many years ago, I dimly recall 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. performances, but those were Off-Broadway shows. Anyone recall those?
