| ''It's not like the show will be selling tickets on Borle's name.'' Nor can I imagine the show will be selling tickets on Katie Brayben's name, even though she's a 2-time Olivier Award winner (once for ''Tammy Faye''). Heck, Christian Borle is a 2-time Tony Award winner. And yet I don't recall his name setting box office records for ''Some Like It Hot'' either. Is there enough of an audience for a Tammy Faye Bakker musical? Is her name the draw? Or can it be Elton John, who wrote the music? And whatever happened to the Tammy Faye Bakker musical that Kristin Chenoweth was working on? She sounds like she would've been ideal casting. Was that this same musical? Or was it a rival project? Instead, Chenoweth is coming back to Broadway in another new musical: ''The Queen of Versailles.'' |
