Agreed. I've been a fan of the show since 1985 when I saw a camp production when I was 15 filled with a cast of 14-17 year olds. The show had flaws then as it does now. But despite being able to agree with many of the individual points people have noted - the show - I honestly believe - is far more than the sum of its parts. I loved the revival. I think it still thrills you and hits you in the gut (and a in a very different way when you're in your 50s as opposed to your teens).

No - it wouldn't put this show in the "masterpiece" category but I do think it finally succeeds. And I can honestly say that every criticism that I could level at either the written show or the production are only things that I can think of in hindsight and didn't feel at all while sitting in the audience - so that's a success to me.

And clearly the casting worked - I have not heard any word of a tour yet and would not be surprised if it did not. Not sure how this would play without that trio and in places other than the large cities.
