I'm so happy to hear so many reports about Michael Berresse being the right guy to do ''The Right Girl.'' That's such a tricky number to dance. I've been a fan of his ever since he did ''The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm'' (1999) and was Tony-nominated as Bill in ''Kiss Me, Kate'' in 2000. Michael's always struck me a great leading man: He can sing and dance terrifically; he's got the looks and charisma. And he oughta have been a BIG star. Years ago, when I interviewed him for Playbill, I think he was working on bringing ''An American in Paris'' to Broadway, but that didn't happen for him. Anyway, here's a clip of Michael and the equally talented Tony Yazbeck doing a delightful ''Chicago'' duet from the 2014 ''Broadway Backwards.'' |
