Yes. But part of what makes the marriage terrible is that she's been a poseur all this time. She never really wanted the Braques and Chagalls and all that. But she never thought she'd be good enough for Ben if she were just herself. So she's spent 30 years in the same kind of denial and emptiness that Ben has. She also shows it in her rather brittle personality. |
