Wayman, that's a great story, and I loved reading your article about him! There's no date on the article - did you write it after he passed away?
It's great that he was so nice to you after you just showed up at his house! But that was in 1979, when he was probably more "STEPHEN SONDHEIM!" rather than "STEPHEN SONDHEIM!!!!!!!!!!" as he is today. And it was a more innocent time, too - I think nowadays, most public figures should probably call security or the police if someone just showed up at their house. |
