Eddie Redmayne is an incredible actor. He did the assignment. The assignment is a little insane, but he did it.

I thought most of the musical numbers came off well. "Water for Elephants" came across exactly as poorly and confusing as it does in the theater, and I would buy ticket to Tommy, Hell's Kitchen, and Cabaret based on their numbers, where I wasn't really excited about any of them prior.

In terms of Stereophonic, they did the single. Maybe they should have done "Drive" or "Bright", but they're getting behind their single, and the song works spectacularly in context.

This to me was a better Tony than years past, Ariana DeBose notwithstanding. They barrelled through a bunch of awards early, giving us more time for long speeches and big numbers and a lovely In Memoriam section, all riding on the backs of the best bunch of winners in recent memory.
