...and it was certainly true of some of the winners' speeches, like Stereophonic's very nice (but dull) read-aloud acceptance speech from its director. BUT, this is the Tonys and the acting nominees are nearly always stage vets with charisma and presence. I thought all of the acting winners' speeches were beautifully written AND passionately delivered with plenty of character and personality. Had they *just* been laundry lists of thank'ees, then, yes, I would have agreed.
