I thought the memorial segment was well plotted and it was a smart idea to pause the names when the singer was being showcased. It did seem like there were some repeated verses in that song, but I haven't listened to ACL in a long time. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone but it also seemed like the significant people were all there.
I doubt that if Hinton had wanted to go up on stage that anyone would have stopped her. Personally I would be embarrassed rushing to the stage to accept a Tony if my contribution to that win was minimal, thought not saying Hinton's was.
Different question: The producers on the screens seemed to magically appear, how did that work? Were all the "screen people" assembled before the award was announced? Did those people even get into that ugly Koch theater? |
