I am pretty sure that no one here has accused them of misrepresenting their bona fides, or of relying on secrets. The canards they mentioned are widely known and no secret at all. (As I said, what they did was repeat gossip that anyone who reads about the Tonys would know even if they wouldn't know an insider from the person who slices the cheesecakes at Juniors. The point is that there is no data to support those canards (or any of the others that are regularly employed in the theatre because its what we do) such that they are meaningless. Ironically, you then try to "quantify" their accuracy with a number that is "notable" only because it, by definition, way too low to mean anything. But yes everyone thinks they know how voters pick but, as you say, it is subjective. And as long as it is, folks are just being entertained. Which is better than the alternative. :-)
