Yet it just happened 2 years ago: ''A Strange Loop'' won only 2 Tonys (Best Musical, Best Book) out of 11 Tony nominations. That's rare.
At the 1972 Tonys, ''Two Gentlemen of Verona'' only won 2 Tonys, also for Best Musical and Best Book. By contrast, ''Follies'' won 7 Tonys.
I don't think any show has won Best Musical and nothing else (unlike ''Grand Hotel,'' which won Best Picture, but nothing else at the 1932 Oscars). |
