Jason Danieley was announced by Lockhart, as he came up for his bow, on the first night. (The name Georgia Stitt never passed his lips. Maybe she should have been on an index card?) He was listed in the sparse program as director, though true, people might not have known his legacy, as no bios were included for anyone. (Though he also has a history with the Pops, including directing the concert version of Ragtime last summer.)
My colleague Ilana Ransom Toeplitz, associate director for the concert, wasn't listed anywhere. Period. (She also worked with Jason on the Ragtime concert last summer.)
I didn't see Sutton, nor the gospel concert on Saturday - I would have liked to have seen both. |
