That stinks (literally). I think you were kind of stuck in a bad situation. The only thing maybe to try next time (if there is a next time) is to tell the house manager, and maybe earlier in the show. I know, for me, if I wait until the boiling point, it's very hard to come back down. It would have been disruptive to the other audience members for you to get up but only for a minute or two, and hopefully you could time it to be less disruptive.

The reasons why I would tell the house manager are 1) they might want to check out that seat after the show; and 2) they might have been able to find an alternate seat that worked better.
