I was also seated in the right orchestra -- the older patrons next to us thought that Bill Clinton was Neil Diamond, so there was lots of excitement across the board.

As for the show -- it is absolute dreck. There probably isn't a worse bio-musical out there ... it has nothing to offer in any way outside of replaying (parts of) one man's life. It's an SNL skit in the simplistic and shoehorned way that the "therapy" allows the "story" to unfold. No pretense, as clinical as if written fully by AI: "Generate a story about your first wife." "Generate a story about your second wife." We don't get any insight into anything ... "And then one night, the chords came to me, my children's futures are secured, here it is -- SWEET CAROLINE!"

Agree that Nick Fradiani is probably the best actor for this role (he does the voice very well!) ... I shudder to think about how Will Swenson poured a year of his life into this grotesque bullshit. Every artist involved in this cynical boomer cash-grab should be ashamed.
