I played Barbie's Prom game with my sister (she is five years older), but Mystery Date was a bridge too far for my house (and it came out after my sister had outgrown the games)!

Everyone read the Hinton when I was in fifth grade (late 60s). This was before mass marketing for younger readers, so we all had to wait our turn at the library's single copy.

A friend of mine did Chautauqua performances for the Tulsa organization and was placed for the dinner at a table with "Susie" Hinton (as she was known). He found her very bright and full of challenging questions (she was fully middle-aged at the time).
