| Where do you see her calling it a flawed musical. From the New York Times "McDonald said she sees “Gypsy,” which features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Arthur Laurents, as “a perfect musical” and called Rose a “deeply flawed and brilliantly alive character.” Are you confusing what she said about Rose. I am sure you agree that Rose is indeed a complex and flawed character, one of the best in the musical canon. |
