I am not saying or even implying that there was racial bias against Briones...

In fact I thought I made an effort to not make it about any presumed racial bias. I'm saying that there is absolutely going to be an inherent and intentional bias toward a famous actor with the power of a famous name and the power and/or money to have a team of reps and publicists that can help you have a relevant campaign/presence/leg up in the nominating process... that's how it works. It doesn't have to have anything to do with race. I'm talking about how the entertainment business works. It works this way for POC actors too.

But I'm especially saying that is Pierce had been declared eligible in his proper category, Briones would have surely been next in line for that slot, especially since Sunday in the Park with Jake was not eligible for any noms.
