I strongly prefer Bounce (DC version) to Road Show. Both versions had some depth, but Bounce was more entertaining.

It wasn't flawless, but I really enjoyed it. Had they addressed a few points I think it could have been genuinely wonderful.

Major Bounce flaws:
1) It seemed to waiver between whether the show was about the brothers or whether it was about Addison, with Wilson just a character in his life. Choosing would make it more focused.
2) The show starts off fun and comic, then turns dark in the second act. Then it sort of finishes happy again, with the brothers walking off into the afterlife together. With the destruction and betrayal Wilson has brought on Addison, this is a false ending. I didn't like or believe it.

Minor points:
1) although generally well staged, Hal Prince's staging of the opening scene was amateurish and clumsy.
2) Nellie was an excellent character and I liked Pawk in the role, but her intro song, "What's Your Rush" slowed things down and didn't flatter anything or anyone. The only piece of the score I'd have gotten rid of.

I wish someone would remount Bounce, which is probably not possible, rights-wise.
