If you could I'd love to hear more on your recollection of Lloyd's production. This is the first I'm hearing of it happening. I'm curious what made it special, or deserving of another look. I looked up photos and the trailer, and to be honest it just looks like Evita done the way everyone does Jesus Christ Superstar... with the Jamie Lloyd "lead woman dressing minimally in underwear or a slip dress" kind of thing, like in Sunset too. I'm sure it was an exciting production to experience, but I'm curious to know more.
Quotes like this one make me scratch my head, "Fabian Aloise’s choreography, which as well as the typical tango and salsa styles also nods to the Thriller dance and b-boying. White canvas pumps, worn by the whole cast, slide across the stage in moonwalks."
And "Lloyd’s Evita isn’t as high-emotion as some can be, but it’s a work of screaming fun, from the flares and ticker tape to the booty-shaking and the knicker-throwing"
