| I remind you that Linda Hunt played a male character in The Year of Living Dangerously and she won an Oscar for it. There was no hidden agenda, she wasn't applying queer or lesbian "affects", she was simply a woman playing a male character. Why should we expect anything different from Erivo, who has repeatedly shown us what an enormous range of talent she has? Your assumption that Erivo is only able to play a character in a way that reflects her own sexuality is extremely short-sighted. |
