| Feldstein and successors all entered from the “wrong” place in the wings. The company awaiting her appearance had to do performative befuddlement. I think it can be traced to the log line about the production’s interpretation: this iteration puts the funny back in the girl’s story. It only worked with Beanie, who pulled off the gimmick rather guilelessly (and I was no fan of her Brice.) My second time, the audience was not so amused. |
