There have been several musical versions of Cyrano de Bergerac -- one by Victor Herbert, another by Vernon Duke, the one with Christopher Plummer, another from Denmark, and Wright and Forrest's A Song for Cyrano. There have also been several Prisoner of Zenda musicals. The first was by Rodgers and Hart which never got produced, then there was Sigmund Romber's Princess Flavia in 1925, then there was Vernon Duke and Martin Charnin's Zenda with Alfred Drake and Chita Rivera in 1963 which only played the West Coast, and then there was a modernization in the movie Dave and a subsequent musical version of Dave that only played out of town and never came in.
