Just to be fair, the Zaks production may have been "very fresh" in *your* memory, but it had closed 14 years earlier (and opened 17 years earlier)... so even for the many who saw it, it won't have been fresh for all of them, but we had nearly 4 presidential terms in between the two productions. Many many people who might have wanted to see a Guys & Dolls production in 2009 would not have been able to see the 1992 production.

Also, from what I can tell, the McAnuff 2009 production had no intention of being like the Zaks production. I didn't see it so I don't know how different it was, but I do remember that by most accounts, whatever it tried to do it it didn't succeed at being a good production of G&D.
