I attended a special showing of this fantastic documentary. At the showing, the director and others in the production staff shared their views of Liza. An audience member asked the director if he and Liza had ever discussed her not having received a Kennedy Center Honor.

There's been much conjecture about it--including that she may have been asked but she turned it down because she isn't well enough to go to the ceremony in DC.

The director stated that she has, in fact, never been asked.

I have found that documentaries that remind of the public of a celebrity's career also the jog the minds of the Kennedy Center Honors committee. I hope this one works too.
