| I’m struggling with my feelings on this. The cast was very good, especially Isabella McCalla, Ryan Vasquez, Kevin Del Aguila and McKenzie Kurtz. But it is 100%, beat by beat, line by line, the TV show. (Except for moments they may have had to cut for time.) It feels rushed (They are in Schmigadoon less than 5 mins into the show). I loved the TV version, and would have probably would have loved this if I didn’t see the TV show. It just felt very safe. It was the first night of the world premiere, so I’m sure they can tinker with it a bit. But that’s also just my preference. There were no surprises or anything new. That being said it’s going to be crowd pleasing for anyone who wants to see the first season condensed into a live stage show. |
