Reeve has been (rightly) lionized for his courage and fortitude in the two decades since his death but this documentary left me underwhelmed. Time and tide have turned him into a "perfect hero" and I appreciate the film's attempt at showing Reeve as a 3-dimensional, flawed human. But the documentary also (perhaps unwittingly) reminds us of just how limited Reeve was as an actor, a life-partner, and a father. The film did not leave me uplifted, as I supposed it would. It just left me sad.
