What a fantastic post, thank you! I won't ask my follow up questions about how certain things are handled because I might as well have some suprises :-)
That said, it is really nice to me to know going on which songs are cut so I don't have process that (disappointement) in the moment. Sounds like that is one of the reasons you went back a second time.
I am sad for what was cut, but ultimately not that surprised they went that way with the book songs. I think what I will miss most of all is Anything For Him, as I always thought the climax of that number, when they all three sing together, is the emotional climax of the entire musical. Always give me chills, goosebumps, maybe even a little choke up. Sorry that could not have been conceived as a fantasy of some sort since it does involve the Spiderwoman (as opposed to other book songs that are pretty straightorward character and plot development moments). |
