What does that mean, one can justify it being sung? There are only 2 songs in the movie that are being performed in context, the re-purposed "Lonely Goatherd" and "Edelweiss". And to a lesser extent, but I suppose still true, "So Long, Farewell." Maybe one or two others are put into a context I don't remember?

Everything else is a book song that is just directed, shot, and performed really beautiful in a beautifully thought out screenplay in a perfectly directed film. Nothing in that movie besides the aforementioned two songs are justifiable that the characters are breaking into song. It's no different than any other book-song-heavy musical movie. But if you think it is, how is it?
