Howard Miller takes a look at English, at the Todd Haimes Theatre:

True story: I once attempted to show off my linguistic prowess at a French restaurant by ordering a salad with Roquefort dressing. I wound up with a dish of horseradish ("raifort") instead. Depending on the circumstances, wrapping your head around a language that is not your native tongue can be fun, awkward, embarrassing, stressful, expansive, or constricting. Thus it is in Sanaz Toossi's Pulitzer Prize-winning play English, an Atlantic Theater Company and Roundabout Theatre Company production opening tonight at the Todd Haimes Theatre.
