The "Victor Garber" character Keenan-Bolger is playing in Titanique is sort of a combination of Andrews (Garber in the film), Ismay, and Captain Smith. I think this was partly done for possible legal reasons but also perhaps because Andrews and Smith were real flesh and blood humans who perished on the ship and this is a silly parody bar show that is very much "based on the movie Titanic" and not factual events. Again I'm not sure if it's legal reasons or just out of honor but Molly Brown is the only person who was on the literal Titanic who appears as a character.
To give you an idea of the show, one of the actors doubles as "Peabo Bryson" to sing "Beauty and the Beast" with "Celine Dion" and also plays "Tina Turner as 'The Iceberg.'" |
