| You're comparing apples to oranges. Did you actually see the 2011 revival of On a Clear Day? The role of Melinda was definitely not a lead. The story was about the romance between Dr. Mark and David Gamble. Melinda is heard in 5 numbers with other performers. She has a brief solo reprise. Her only true solo is a non-book song as a radio performer with some back-up singers. Kara Lindsay as Katherine was the main female character in Newsies. Her relationship with Jack was one of prominent stories in that show. The romantic storyline in the revival of On a Clear Day is between two men. The role of Melinda in this revival is part of the background. |
